  • Pledge Cards

There should be more than enough pledge cards for all students in your school who are prom eligible, in accordance with the numbers you provided to us.

  • Do it Right! Wristbands

Each student who returns a signed pledge card and makes a genuine commitment to keep the pledge receives a Do it Right! Wristband to wear through prom season.  Note we only  have a limited number of wristbands, so one per student, please.  We provided extras for faculty too.

  • SSPN Window Clings

There are enough stickers for every student taking the pledge, and for your faculty.  These are reversible (in case you have tinted windows) and are easily removable.  We recommend they be displayed on the rear window of all vehicles throughout prom season.  We provided enough sticker for faculty too – get them on your cars.

  • Large SSPN Banners

We recommend you use the large Safe & Sober banner at your sign-up table, and around the school to promote the program.  The thermometer banner is for your main hallway.

  • 5 Posters

We encourage you to display these posters throughout your school during prom season to remind students of their pledge and encourage them to Do It Right!

  • Student Prom Tips

This information contains suggestions for prom night as well as ways to help students be sure they keep their pledge.  You may want to make a copy available to all students at the time they return their signed pledge card.

  • Student Sign-Up Sheet

Please have each student fill in this form when returning signed pledge cards.  You may duplicate this form as necessary.  This is just for your recordkeeping to and insure accuracy in the pledge count you provide to us at the end of the program.  We do not need these returned unless there is a re-count.

  • Letter to Parents with Tips

We have enclosed a Letter from Larson Law Firm and Tips for Helping Our Students Keep their Commitment.  These two items should be copied and sent to parents of all prom-eligible students as soon as possible.  You may want to include this in any mailings you are making to parents regarding other school-related matters.  We have found that on prom night some parents need to be reminded of these rules as well.

  • Grand Prize Entry Form/Survey

Complete the entry form/survey and fax it to us by the deadline for your chance to win up to $1000 for your school.  (One school will be selected from each region based upon the highest percentage of students that sign the pledge.)

  • DVD

Unless Kurt is giving a live presentation at your school, your pledge kit contains a 30 minute DVD which is to be played to all prom-eligible students at an assembly in the weeks before prom.  The DVD introduces students to the program, and should motivate them to take the pledge.   The DVD contains Kurt’s presentation of a number of stories involving people who have had their lives turned upside down by the effects of drunk or drugged drivers.   Again, following the DVD presentation, you will need to let your students know what region they are in, and who they are competing with for the 1,000, because that was not yet determined at the time of production of the DVD.

  • Statistics

These statistics are based upon published studies and may be used by students to encourage participate and promote the program in your school (ie, make posters, videotape spots, etc).
